More than just numbers - we're about building real relationships
Started back in 2015, Dravion Theris Accounting wasn't born from some corporate boardroom - it came from seeing too many growing businesses struggle with tax strategy that just didn't make sense for them. I'd been working at larger firms for years, watching small to mid-sized companies get cookie-cutter advice when they really needed someone who'd actually listen.
So yeah, we decided to do things differently. Based right here in Vancouver, we've built our practice around understanding what keeps business owners up at night. It's not always about the bottom line - sometimes it's about knowing you've got someone in your corner who gets it.
Opened our doors with just three clients and a whole lot of coffee. We knew we wanted to focus on businesses that were past the startup phase but not quite corporate giants - that sweet spot where smart tax planning really moves the needle.
Brought on our first full-time staff and moved into the Burrard Street office. Word of mouth was bringing in more clients than we'd expected, mostly from referrals saying we actually explained things in plain English. That felt pretty good, not gonna lie.
The pandemic threw everyone for a loop, but it also showed us what mattered most. We helped dozens of clients navigate CEWS, CERB implications, and completely restructured operations. Some of our strongest client relationships were forged during those uncertain months.
We've got a solid team of specialists, serve over 150 businesses across BC, and honestly haven't lost that initial drive. Yeah, we've grown, but we still know every client by name and remember what matters to each of them. That's not changing anytime soon.
Founder & Lead Tax Strategist
Started this whole thing after getting tired of seeing businesses overpay on taxes. CPA with 15+ years of experience, but I promise I'm not boring at parties.
Corporate Financial Analyst
Numbers person through and through. Joined us in 2019 and has saved clients literally millions in optimized tax structures. Also makes the best office coffee.
Business Advisory Lead
The guy who actually understands what your P&L is telling you about your business. Former CFO turned advisor, because he likes working with multiple companies instead of just one.
Bookkeeping & Payroll Manager
Keeps everyone's books cleaner than their desks. Detail-oriented doesn't even begin to cover it - she's caught mistakes that would've cost clients thousands.
Look, we're not gonna claim we're perfect or that we've revolutionized accounting. What we will say is that most of our clients have been with us for years, and a huge chunk of our new business comes from their referrals.
They'll tell you it's because we pick up the phone when they call, we don't charge for quick questions, and we've actually saved them money - not just on taxes, but by catching issues before they become expensive problems.
Our average client relationship is over 5 years. In an industry where people switch accountants pretty regularly, we think that says something about how we do things.
